If you know me, you know my love for Mexican food runs deep, and tacos are my love language. Chilangos in Highlands is my idea of the perfect low-key girls’ night. Their house-made guacamole is creamy perfection, the margaritas are always on pointe, and the tacos might be some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s the kind of place where you can exhale, dig into good food, and still have room for hours of catching up with your girlfriends.
The Brother’s Dailey, Sea Bright: For Vibes & People Watching
Sometimes, you need a spot that brings energy and fun, and The Brother’s Dailey in Sea Bright nails it. On the weekends, the DJs keep the atmosphere alive with just the right mix of music to get you moving. You can grab a high-top with the girls or snag a spot at the bar and enjoy some seriously good people watching. This one is less about the quiet chats and more about fun vibes and a night where laughter flows just as easily as the cocktails.
Lovesick, Asbury Park: For Dancing the Night Away
Lovesick in Asbury Park is like the ultimate girls’ night mood board: girlie, fun, and just a little glam. It’s a wine and cocktail bar that feels tailor-made for a night with your besties. DJs every Friday and Saturday mean you can sip, mingle, and then hit the dance floor when the beat drops. It’s one of my favorite spots to shake it off with the girls and reset after a busy week.
The Bistro, Red Bank: For Nostalgia & Classics
This one will always have my heart. The Bistro in Red Bank has been a go-to for me since 2001, back when my girlfriends and I would make it a staple of our nights out. It first opened in 1996 and it’s still just as good today. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I think it has a lot to do with their Asian Caesar Salad and Spicy Feta dip, they never disappoint. It’s the perfect spot when you want a night that feels both familiar and special. Did I mention it’s BYO?!
Barnacle Bill’s, Rumson: For Steamers, Burgers & Good Vibes
For the ultimate low-key night, Barnacle Bill’s is unbeatable. Grab a bucket of steamers, order a juicy burger, and you’ve got everything you need for a laid-back evening with your girlfriends. While they’re famous for their Long Island Iced Teas, my personal pick is their Mai Tai (random, I know but so good!). Their outdoor area is the cherry on top, especially this time of year when the weather is cool perfection.
