One of the things I love most about living in Monmouth County is how easy it is to get outside. Whether I’m looking for a quick walk between appointments or a longer weekend reset, there are so many beautiful places nearby that make it easy to move, clear your head, and appreciate where we live.
These are a few of my favorite walking spots.
Sandy Hook
Sandy Hook is one of those places that never gets old. The views of the ocean, the sound of the waves, and the wide open shoreline instantly make you feel like you’ve stepped away from everything.
Sometimes I walk along the beach, sometimes along the paved paths near the lighthouse, but either way it’s the kind of place that clears your mind almost immediately.
Henry Hudson Trail
The Henry Hudson Trail is one of the most versatile spots for walking in Monmouth County. The trail stretches through several towns and offers a peaceful, tree-lined path that feels tucked away from the busyness of everyday life.
It’s perfect for a longer walk when you want to really get moving and enjoy some quiet.
Holmdel Park
Holmdel Park is one of my go-to places when I want a scenic walk without going too far. The trails wind through open fields, wooded areas, and around the pond, which makes every walk feel a little different depending on the season.
It’s also one of those parks that always seems to feel calm and relaxing.
Thompson Park
Thompson Park is another favorite because of how much space there is to explore. The walking paths around the lake are beautiful, and the park itself feels expansive and peaceful.
It’s the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time in the best way.
Fair Haven Fields
Fair Haven Fields has a completely different feel than the larger parks. It’s simple, open, and easy to walk, which makes it perfect for a quick reset during the day.
Sometimes the best walks are the ones that fit easily into your routine.
A Simple Reminder
One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that getting outside doesn’t have to be complicated. A simple walk can reset your mood, clear your mind, and give you a little energy back for the rest of the day.
Living in Monmouth County means having all of these beautiful spaces right in our backyard, and I try to take advantage of that whenever I can.
