Why I Love Calling Monmouth County Home

People often ask me why I love living and working in Monmouth County.

The answer is simple. It has everything.

I’ve lived here for years, raised my family here, built my business here, and every time I think I’ve experienced everything this county has to offer, I discover something new. Whether it’s a hidden restaurant, a scenic hiking trail, a local festival, or a quiet beach at sunset, Monmouth County has a way of making every season feel special.

As a Realtor, I spend a lot of time helping people find the perfect home. But what they’re really buying is something much bigger than four walls and a roof. They’re buying a lifestyle. And I truly believe there are few places that offer the quality of life you’ll find here.

Our Beaches Never Get Old

There is nothing quite like a summer morning at the Jersey Shore.

Whether you’re spending the day in Sea Bright, Long Branch, Spring Lake, Manasquan, Belmar, or Sandy Hook, every beach has its own personality.

Some days, I love grabbing a coffee and taking a peaceful walk along the shoreline before the crowds arrive. Other days, it’s all about a beach chair, a good book, and listening to the waves.

One of my favorite places is Sandy Hook. It’s perfect for long walks, bike rides, fishing, bird watching, or simply watching the boats pass through the bay. Every visit reminds me how lucky we are to have such incredible natural beauty right in our backyard.

Outdoor Dining Is a Way of Life

If there is one thing Monmouth County knows how to do well, it’s outdoor dining.

There is something about sitting outside on a warm summer evening with good food, great company, and live music playing nearby that just feels like summer.

One of my favorite places is Red Bank during Broadwalk season.

Every summer, part of Broad Street is closed to traffic and transformed into a vibrant pedestrian promenade. Bistro lights are strung overhead, restaurants expand their outdoor seating into the street, musicians perform throughout the week, and the entire downtown comes alive.

Whether you’re enjoying dinner at The Bistro, meeting friends for cocktails at Street Kitchen Pub, grabbing pizza at Sally Boy’s, shopping at Amanda Jean Boutique, or ending the night with ice cream from Scoop and Scootery, Broadwalk has a fun energy that keeps people coming back all summer long.

When I’m craving waterfront dining, Monmouth County has no shortage of incredible options. Watching the sun set over the water while enjoying dinner is one of those simple pleasures that never gets old.

And if you’re looking for rooftop views, AP Rooftop in Asbury Park is one of my favorite places to enjoy a cocktail while overlooking the ocean. It’s the perfect spot to end a summer day.

Our Parks Are One of Monmouth County’s Best-Kept Secrets

People often think of Monmouth County for its beaches, but our park system is just as impressive.

The Monmouth County Park System is one of the best in New Jersey and offers something for everyone.

Hartshorne Woods Park in Middletown is one of my favorite places to hike. The trails wind through beautiful forests before opening up to breathtaking views of the Navesink River and Sandy Hook Bay.

Holmdel Park offers peaceful walking trails, open fields, and one of the prettiest settings in the county.

Thompson Park in Lincroft is another favorite for walking, jogging, or simply enjoying nature.

Henry Hudson Trail is perfect for walking, running, or biking while taking in beautiful waterfront scenery.

Huber Woods Park offers shaded trails and a peaceful escape that feels miles away from everyday life.

Whether you’re looking for an easy afternoon walk or a more challenging hike, there is always another trail waiting to be explored.

Golf Lovers Have Endless Options

If golf is your thing, you’re in the right place.

The Monmouth County Park System has some of the best county golf courses in the tri-state area.

Hominy Hill Golf Course is consistently ranked among the top public courses in New Jersey and is a favorite for golfers throughout the region.

Charleston Springs, Howell Park, Shark River, and Bel-Aire Golf Course also offer beautiful layouts that make it easy to spend an entire day outdoors.

Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just learning the game, having access to courses like these is another reason people love living here.

There Is Always Something Happening

One thing I love about Monmouth County is that there is always something to do.

Summer concerts, street fairs, farmers markets, food festivals, movies on the beach, fireworks, outdoor yoga, live music, and community events fill the calendar from May through September.

One of my favorite summer traditions is watching movies on the beach. There’s something nostalgic about sitting in the sand with family and friends, listening to the waves while watching a favorite film under the stars.

Our local farmers markets are another weekend staple. I love walking through the stands filled with fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, local honey, and handmade products while supporting small businesses.

Fresh From the Farm

One thing many people don’t realize is how much farmland surrounds our coastal communities.

Within a short drive, you can spend the morning picking peaches, blueberries, apples, or strawberries depending on the season.

Places like Delicious Orchards in Colts Neck are local institutions. Whether you’re picking up fresh fruit, homemade pies, apple cider donuts, or local vegetables, it’s impossible to leave empty-handed.

Battleview Orchards is another favorite, especially during apple season, and Eastmont Orchards is a wonderful spot to enjoy fresh-picked fruit and experience a little piece of Monmouth County’s agricultural roots.

It’s one of the things that makes living here so unique. We truly have the best of both worlds. Beautiful beaches just minutes away and working farms that have been part of our communities for generations.

It’s the Sense of Community That Keeps Me Here

As wonderful as the beaches, restaurants, parks, and activities are, what truly makes Monmouth County special is the people.

Our communities support local businesses. Neighbors know one another. Downtowns are full of familiar faces, and there is always another community event bringing people together.

It’s the kind of place where you run into friends at the coffee shop, spend weekends cheering on local sports teams, and celebrate the little moments that make life meaningful.
